Delicious Biscuits Recipe
Homemade biscuits and sausage gravy
For Biscuits:
2 1/2 cups flour
2 tbs of baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/3 cup buttermilk
1 stick of unsalted butter(cut into thin little squares and chilled)
For Gravy:
2 1/2 cups of milk
1/4 cup of flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Add all dry ingredients for biscuits and mix to combine. Mix in chilled butter with dry ingredients make sure it’s well combined. Create a whole in the center of dry mix and add buttermilk mix until a solid dough ball has formed on a lightly floured surface knead dough and roll out to about 1in thick place on to cookie sheet and bake in your preheated oven for 15 minutes until golden brown remove and brush top with melted butter.
Cook sausage until browned breaking it up as it cooks. Once done add 2 tbs of flour to sausage and mix until flour has dissolved now slowly add your milk stirring as you add your milk allow gravy to thicken reduce heat from medium high to medium low and allow to simmer for ten minutes. Split biscuits in half and top with gravy mixture plate and enjoy.
